Lucy Hawking is an English journalist, novelist, educator, and philanthropist. She is the daughter of the theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking and writer Jane Wilde Hawking and is best known as a children's novelist and science educator. Hawking studied French and Russian at the University of Oxford. After completing her degree, she studied international journalism at the City University of London. She wrote for New York magazine, the Daily Mail, The Telegraph, The Times, the London Evening Standard, and The Guardian. She also worked as a radio journalist. All of Hawking's books and articles centre around the theme of teaching science and education to children. She took interest in this topic after witnessing one of her son's friends ask her father about black holes at a party. He responded by telling him he'd "turn into spaghetti," and the boy was delighted with that answer. This experience shaped her perspective on using methods of entertainment, such as children's literature and adventure films, to engage the new generation on "post-truth" politics and scientific understandings. Lucy has toured the world, giving popular talks on physics, astronomy and cosmology to young audiences. She was an invited guest speaker at NASA’s 50th birthday celebrations where she gave a talk on engaging young people in science and education. Lucy is also the winner of the Sapio Prize for Popularizing Science 2008.

TAVĘS NEBELIKO: Apie technologines manipuliacijas, lemiančias savojo “aš” praradimą

Rašydamas dokumentinio filmo “Modernity Has Failed Us” scenarijų narstau įvairius technologijų sukeltus pokyčius mūsų gyvenimuose.

The starting point was New York, more so The School of Visual Arts, where I did a master of graphic design. That was my first advertising experience. In 2014, moved by a passion for technology, I have joined the Korean network Cheil, to develop their creative culture. Cheil was quickly recognized as one of the strongest local creative agencies in Spain, winning their first south European Cannes Lion in that first year. First of many. Looking for a way of delivering valuable work, in 2015 I had the opportunity to come to Ogilvy Madrid as General Creative Director. On the first years, we have implemented several new disciplines that have improved the work (and the numbers), such as experience, content, performance and innovation. On 2017, Ogilvy was named number one innovative agency in Spain, and winning, among other international awards, a Cannes Gold lion on digital. On 2020, I have decided to give a new step on my career by joining the innovative, creative agency ForeverBeta, as Partner and Chief Creative Officer for their offices in London, Manchester and New York. The goal is to build better relationships with clients and therefore, better results throughout innovative and relevant work beyond advertising.

Pseudoscience and conspiracy theories by the global pandemic, lack of knowledge and critical thinking, bold claims, and fear-mongering with no solid evidence have been spreading at rocket speed. Is that dangerous? How not to get lost and over-dose on the amounts of information we get every day? How and why do we need to talk to our anti-vaccine friends or relatives? Lucy Hawking is an English journalist, novelist, educator, and philanthropist. She is the daughter of the theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking and writer Jane Wilde Hawking and is best known as a children's novelist and science educator.

Radical curiosity: how do you know what's real in the world full of fake

Pseudoscience and conspiracy theories by the global pandemic, lack of knowledge and critical thinking, bold claims, and fear-mongering with no solid evidence have been spreading at rocket speed. Why do people believe in healing crystals, astrology, or 5G being used for mind control, but don't believe in global warming and didn't listen to the scientists in 2005 (!) when they warned about a possible coronavirus pandemic? Is that dangerous? How not to get lost and over-dose on the amounts of information we get every day? How and why do we need to talk to our anti-vaccine friends or relatives? And most importantly - critical thinking... say what and why should you?!

"Shakespeare once said that “all the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players”. Both actors on stage and people in life have something in common: they’ve been wearing masks since the dawn of humanity. What masks are worn by the Heroes of today? What personal branding trends have we observed since the beginning of the pandemic? Does one really need a mask or, in other words, a polished personal brand on the way from Zero to Hero? What are the steps that everyone can take to stay relevant today? "

7 years ago I persuaded Wix to establish a branch in Vilnius and since then I’ve been managing the site and helping build talented R&D teams. From day one I figured out that it’s important not only to choose great employees but also to motivate and help them grow. Working at Wix gave me an opportunity to help open and build teams in other Wix locations like Kyiv or Dublin. What gets me out of bed in the morning is the love of challenges and people.

Build and sustain a motivated team. Sky rocket people.

So you recruited an amazing team? And you’ve started thinking about motivating them - but have you figured out yet, that what works for one team might not work for another team. Motivation comes out of self-development. And then what happens when perks start interfering with performance?

He responded by telling him he'd "turn into spaghetti," and the boy was delighted with that answer. This experience shaped her perspective on using methods of entertainment, such as children's literature and adventure films, to engage the new generation on "post-truth" politics and scientific understandings. Lucy has toured the world, giving popular talks on physics, astronomy and cosmology to young audiences. She was an invited guest speaker at NASA’s 50th birthday celebrations where she gave a talk on engaging young people in science and education. Lucy is also the winner of the Sapio Prize for Popularizing Science 2008.

As a kid in grandfather's garage full of broken junk I kept asking "How do things work?", "Why sometimes they do not? and "Can I fix them?". Over the last 20 years I have tried writing software in the heart of Silicon Valley, designing data strategies for a dozen of Fortune 500 companies, saving one of the largest companies in China from Russian hackers, helping president Trump break Facebook, running a billion-dollar hedge fund, starting a tech company before the first Internet bubble, being an academic, building the largest open data repository about pollution and sailing across the Pacific to help clean up the ocean. After all, I am left with more questions than answers. I am grateful for the opportunity to explore some of these questions with you.

Lėktuvų nenutupdė Greta, bet įveikė Korona

Daugybę tūkstančių metų žmonija judėjo vos kelis kilometrus apie savo gimimo vietą. Paskutiniai šimtas metų pakeitė viską: atstumas iki tol buvęs migracija, dabar tapo 7 dienų atostogomis. Pas draugus, tėvus, studentus, meilužius, darbdavius, instruktorius ir verslo partnerius mes įpratome skraidyti. Tačiau 2020 m. pasaulį sustabdė, nors neišjungė: kas keisis dabar mūsų įpročiuose, noruose ir elgesyje.
